When you enter a room, usually you realize fairly quickly whether you are welcome or not. Something about the people or the environment – what is said or done, not said or done-lets you know. When the welcome is warm, sincere, generous – extravagant – you just may have discovered a people and place that you want to know more deeply. Jesus didn’t turn people away, and neither do we. A recent ad for the United Church of Christ said, “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.”
A woman in our church once told me that she visited our church the first few times because she was curious. She had been to our Cabarets downstairs and enjoyed them. She and her friend wondered what it would be like to worship here. They started attending Sunday morning worship services. She said she came initially because she was curious, but she stayed because she found love here.
My prayer for each of you reading this message is that if you already have a church home, you will attend services there and support it. If you are looking for a church home, one that teaches the Word of God, one that offers a warm welcome to everyone that enters our doors, and a church family that loves and encourages, then I hope you will consider making Park Place your home.
I hope and pray that if you are searching and curiosity brings you into our church, that love will keep you here.
In Christ’s love and mine,
Park Place has been a very special place for me as it is the church that I was born into. The beginnings of my faith journey began here and it continues to be an inspiration to me. I became one of the Pastors here, which is truly an honor and
joy in my life as I, with Pastor Bill, offer up a Ministry based on God's love for each and every one of us. The people here at Park Place are my Christian family and we come together, all unique and special in God's eyes, to work together to promote
the love of God through worship, the spoken word, the music and the deeds of Christians fellowship. Indeed, people that come to "visit" are welcomed with open arms, no matter where they are on their life's journey. We are an open and
affirming church that truly works together to extend God's extravagant welcome to all...... We have several exciting Ministries here that strive to serve God's
I believe that we are all an integral part of God's work here on earth and we, along with Christians worldwide, strive to bring the love of God to all who not only enter through our doors, but to all whose lives touch ours. I also believe that God calls each of us to offer up our gifts, whatever they may be, to serve God in the world. Whether you have a church home and family or not, come and visit us.
We would love to see you!!! See you on Sunday???
With Love in Christ,
